Downloading with yt-dlp

While direct browser downloads are available, using yt-dlp is the most reliable way to download high-quality clips directly from StreamSnip without any limitations.

1 Open Command Prompt (CMD)

Press Win + R, type cmd, and hit Enter to open your terminal.

2 Install FFmpeg

FFmpeg is required for merging high-quality video and audio streams into a single mp4 file.

winget install ffmpeg --version 8.0.1 --force

3 Install yt-dlp

Install the industry-standard tool for downloading video content from YouTube.

winget install yt-dlp.yt-dlp

Important: After installation completes, close and reopen your CMD window before proceeding — this ensures yt-dlp is recognized as a command.

4 Download Your Clip

Once tools are installed, head to any clip page. Look for the Copy YT-DLP Command button.

How it works: Click the button to copy a pre-formatted command. Paste it into your CMD window and hit Enter. Your clip will download immediately!

Tip: To open the folder where your clip was downloaded, run explorer . in the same CMD window — this opens File Explorer at your current directory.
